Hi, I’m Jennifer Bonds—a lifelong wellness advocate, functional medicine practitioner in training, and founder of Functionally Rooted Wellness.

I’m currently earning my Doctorate in Functional Medicine and Advanced Holistic Nutrition, building on my background in Exercise Science and Psychology (B.S.). For over a decade, I’ve worked in the health space as a certified wellness coach, fitness nutritionist, and personal trainer—helping clients transform their health from the inside out.

Through both personal experience and professional work, I’ve seen firsthand how a proactive, root-cause approach can change lives.

My philosophy is simple: the body is designed to heal, but it needs the right inputs—nutrients, movement, environment, and mindset—to truly thrive.

In my practice, I blend the latest science in functional medicine with holistic, personalized care. I work with clients to uncover imbalances and root causes behind symptoms, optimize cellular health, and create sustainable strategies for living well—for life. I’m especially passionate about helping people expand their healthspan (how well you live) alongside their lifespan, so they can feel energized, resilient, and vibrant at every age.

When I’m not deep in functional medicine research or supporting clients, you’ll find me exploring life in Nashville with my husband and three children, running local trails, experimenting with natural wellness products, or tending my garden of herbs and flowers.

My goal? To empower you to take back control of your wellness journey, understand your body at a deeper level, and build the foundation for a long, vibrant life.
